Boost any dinner with a Smoothie!
We eat a lot of smoothies in our house. I find that it is a great way to boost any dinner especially if the day has been lacking in fruits and veg.
Really there are no rules when it comes to smoothies. Here are two of my newest favorite season celebrating creations.
Cherry Cranberry Dream!
1/2 cup cherries frozen
1/2-3/4 cup cranberries frozen
1 cup apple juice
1 cup unsweetened almond milk or plain yogurt
1 ripe banana
add water if it is too sweet for you tastes.
here are some of my favorite incredients – add some soaked dates if you like it sweeter |
blendy blendy!
I forgot to take a photo of the smoothie all alone, gorgeous color isn’t it?! |
Pumkin Spice
1/2 cup pumpkin
1 ripe banana
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice (or ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg to taste)
1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or your milk preference)
(add ice if you like it like a milk shake)
add – soaked dates for more sweetness – or sweetener of your choice
I added oats (you can use gf oats) to this one for a little more sustanance |
blendy blendy!!!
mmmmm… pumpkin pie in a cup! |
Keep in mind the harder your fruit and ice etc. the more powerful the blender you may need. I happen to use a Blendtec (3 horse power!!) It is a beast and I love it. It can make peanut butter if you want!!!
