How many jobs do you have? Introducing Heather!!

Category:

Think about your life. How many jobs do you have in one day? Your paying job, your family job, your friend job, your cleaning job…..and these are just the everyday jobs, what about those special events that pop up…….travel planner, house painter, general contractor, lawn mower, animal keeper, world traveler, …….You have a lot of jobs!

I know it can be hard to admit that we don’t know everything, or can’t do everything that the media tells us we ought to do or know.

I wish I knew how or had the time to learn how to fix my car, do the plumbing, build shelves, grow an enormous vegetable garden, trim my own trees…..just to name a few off the top of my head.  Luckily there are plenty of experts out there who do and I have access to them!

So how can you expect to take on another entire job in the form of Meal Planner and Nutrition Expert who knows how to create a balanced life without relying on boxed meals or fast foods that don’t serve you or your loved ones.

We all have great intentions but how do we keep up with it?

We ask for help!!!

When getting my Clean Eating Challenges together I had to ask for a lot of help.  I needed recipe testers, editors and health colleagues to help me make sure that the programs are reasonable and healthy for the general public to thrive on.  One of the people who has helped me out is my friend Heather.  Heather is a Registered Dietitian and friend who has been with me since the beginning, we have always wanted to work together on a big project and finally I convinced her to join in the fun in this round of the Clean Eating Challenge “insert squeal of delight here”!!

I am so happy to introduce Heather Pitschka!

Heather and her lovely hubby Steve looking fancy!

Hello everyone. My name is Heather Pitschka. I’m very excited to be working with Jodie during the upcoming Spring Edition of her 12 and 30-day Clean Eating Challenge.

I want to share a little bit about myself with you. In my free time, I love to trail run, mountain bike, kayak, stand-up paddleboard, go on canoe trips, and cross-country ski. I love to read (at one point I was in 3 different book clubs!) and quilt. And, of course, I love nutrition. I am fascinated by the science (biology, physiology, and psychology) and the art (culinary creations!) of nutrition and eating.

I took a break from dietetics about 9 months ago to focus my energy on our small family business. This is my first step back into my nutrition practice and I am filled with renewed energy!

Here’s a bit about my educational and professional background. I graduated from the College of Saint Scholastica with a degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition. I completed my internship at the University of Alaska, Anchorage. I have been practicing dietetics for 14 years in a variety of settings, including: inpatient cardiac care, outpatient adult weight management and bariatric surgery, and most recently as a certified diabetes educator and sports dietitian.

A few other things: I am a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association). I’m a licensed dietitian for the State of Minnesota. I am also certified in Adult Weight Management through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Thanks so much for allowing me to be a part of your support team and you work toward a healthier you!
