Refreshing winter salad! As yummy as it is beautiful!

I saw a photo of pears and pomegranates together right before the holidays and thought they were so festive!  They inspired this amazing salad just as fit for a party or a detox diet!

I wanted to post a few recipes to supplement my lovely detoxers who start on Sunday for our 12 Day Detox.  I hope that this salad will brighten their day!  Sometimes we are so looking forward to something but at the same time dread it!  I totally understand that and aim to make eating clean as lovely and addicting as possible!

Pomegranate Pear Salad

2 ripe pears

1 or 2 pomegranates

1 avocado

1/2-1 cup cilantro (depends on your tastes)

1 juice of a lime or lemon (I prefer lime)

sprinkle of sea salt – optional

Sometimes it is the most simple ingredients that give you the most amazing flavor.  This is it for this recipe.  Although in the photo I show a lemon, I have found that I prefer lime juice instead.

Cut pears and avocado into bite size pieces.  Open and remove all the pom seeds (check you tube there are tons of videos on how to get the seeds out!) Chop cilantro and toss all together.  Squeeze the lime over the salad and toss/stir gently – serve or refrigerate till ready to eat!
