Chocolate Banana Shake Sweet Treat on a Detox

I want to get rid of a myth out there, in case you have not been paying attention the last few posts.  You can eat food that tastes good and still cleanse your body!!!  Whoa! Yes!

So many people get confused about cleansing- vs- fasting.  Fasting (in my opinion) is more about a spiritual cleanse and path.  Not eating at all or eating very little is not the pathway to long term health.  But if you are doing it for spiritual or mental clarity etc… go for it.

Cleansing or Detoxing is more about eating clean, no preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, enhancers, hormones etc…  Cleansing can take many forms from elimination diets to specific targeted cleanses like this fertility cleanse, where we are taking out many of the things that have been proven to be detrimental to our health and fertility and incorporating many amazing things that will enhance our health.

A cleanse could consist of removing 1 thing like dairy, for example, or many things.  Depending on your diet right now you each will experience differing levels of detox reactions.  From headaches and nausea to huge amounts of energy.  What will your experience be? I wonder?

So here is something sweet you can enjoy on our journey!

This one takes some thinking ahead but you can have these ingredients sitting in your fridge or freezer for weeks.  So get it ready now so you can enjoy at a moments notice!

Chocolate Banana Ice Cream Shake!

1-2 Bananas cut up and frozen (the more ripe the better)

3-4 Dates or 2-3 Tbls Chopped Dates (soaked in water to just cover, I keep a jar or covered bowl filled with soaked dates in my fridge, makes it easier on my blender!)

1 1/2 cup Coconut milk  Or  1 1/2 cup cold water and 3 Tbls hemp hearts (either one of these will make it creamy!)

1-2 Tbls Cocoa Powder unsweetened

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

Add spices if you like – I like a little cardamom in there or some cinnamon!

Blend till smooth and sippable or spoonable!!

Simple ingredients! Use hemp hearts for a little more protein in place of the coconut milk.  Take note of the dates in the bowl, these are my soaked dates.  I try to keep some in the fridge for immediate use!  They are soft and easy to blend if you do this.

Here is the magic! So simple yet soooo delicious! Use less liquid if you want it thicker!
